About Me

The stories of my childhood resound with thick accents of Greek immigrants. A community that spoke of monsters that were utterly foreign to me: hunger and death and Nazi occupiers. Loss and fear were common themes. Tales of journeys to a new land where the people spoke a strange language. Early chapters filled with struggle transitioned to love and humor and finally to establishment. I stood at the end of a long arc of revolution that left me with a profound respect for the power of story.

I earned a degree in English literature from Vanderbilt University to the perplexion of a family to that point without a member educated past high school. Of what value could that degree possibly be?

It was harnessed by the public relations firm of Hill and Knowlton to change perceptions and behaviors. In Denver I helped Southwest sell airline tickets, touted the environmental safety of a mining company and drew consumers to spend their recreational dollars at a new casino and Elitch Gardens amusement park. I worked to garner support for new mobile phone technologies and the opening of Denver International Airport.

A move further west to Los Angeles found me telling stories about the positive impact of Japanese auto manufacturers in southern California, the delicious treats from city’s first Krispy Kreme franchise and the famous floats of the Rose Bowl parade.

On a return to my native Atlanta I landed what I thought was a dream position – a communications role at The Coca-Cola Company. For fifteen years I talked of refreshment and nostalgia and the possibility for continued growth of this venerable icon. I managed, and then directed, stories of support by the soft-drink giant for the Olympic Games as well as the world’s biggest sporting event: the FIFA World Cup. This included leadership of on-site communications teams in Athens, Berlin, Cape Town, Torino, Beijing and London and a 35-country tour of the globe for the Olympic Torch Relay. Later, I coached CEOs and other executive leaders in preparation for media interviews with journalists from The Wall Street Journal to CNBC. I built narratives around earnings and proxy statements.

The latest chapter in this strange eventful history gives me the privilege of helping people who are doing work that matters. To help them gain the attention and build trust with the people they seek to serve.

People like you.

You already have traction. People are paying attention and are looking for you to give them more of your generous offering. Your ideas are changing people.

Now you are looking to level up. You believe that if only more people were aware of the work you do that they would respond. And then you would have the resources to reach more people.

You know that you need a collaborator with experience outside your comfort zone. Someone who will rumble with your vision and provide a concise narrative and a plan to help you gain the attention and trust of those people you want to serve.

Someone with the experience to guide you and your team in the art of intentional storytelling.

I can help you do just that.

Let's tell your story with intention.
